The “Programa Integrar para o Turismo” emerges as a pioneering initiative aimed at the training and professional integrationof migrants and beneficiaries of international protection in the tourism sector, namely in tourism, hotel and restaurant companies.
The program offers technical training, carried out in the Schools of Hospitality and Tourism, and practical internships in tourism, hotel and restaurant companies, to integrate about 1,000 participants into the labor market.
Companies interested in participating, with the offer of paid internships and/or first job contracts, must register by January 31, 2025, guaranteeing their collaboration in this program. The internships, lasting one month, are scheduled for the period of June 2025, offering a practical and enriching opportunity for both participants and employers.
Training Process
The learning methodology adopted in the program is based on "learning by doing". The training in the "Integrate for Tourism Program" consists of three main phases:
- General Training: Includes modules on behavioural skills and languages, such as Portuguese and English.
- Technical Training: Divided into the areas of Catering/Food & Beverage and Accommodation/Hospitality.
- Practical Training in a Work Context (Internship): Carried out in hotel and restaurant units.
The program has a total duration of 520 hours, including 360 hours (3 months) of general and technical training and 160 hours (1 month) of practical on-the-job training.
Program Schedule
First, the training in Hospitality and Tourism Schools will take place between February 17 and May 23 , 2025. Regarding the internships, they will take place between June 2nd and 30th of 2025.
