The Minimum Wage increases to 820€ em 2024.
A partir de 1 de janeiro de 2024, o salário mínimo sobe mais 60 euros face aos 760 euros atuais, o que corresponde a 7,9% a mais.
O que é o salário mínimo?
No artigo 273º do Código do Trabalho é definida a Remuneração Mínima Mensal Garantida (RMMG), também conhecido como ordenado mínimo ou salário mínimo. Este define que nenhum trabalhador, a tempo inteiro, poderá receber um valor inferior ao fixado, devendo ser feito o acerto proporcional aos trabalhadores que desenvolvem a sua atividade a tempo parcial
Aumento do ordenado mínimo em Portugal (2024)
The increase in the minimum wage is equivalent to a rise of 7.8%, which aims to match the inflation forecast made by Banco de Portugal. Therefore, this increase of € 55 aims to offset the impacts of inflation and increase the purchasing power of the Portuguese.
This increase is the highest in percentage terms in more than 30 years, so the Government maintains the goal of reaching € 900 by the end of the legislature. In this sense, the evolution of the SMN would be 810€ in 2024, the following year to 855€ and reaching 900€ in 2026, as described in the chart below.
Subsídio de alimentação mantém-se
The food allowance é de 6€ em dinheiro paid to employees and exempt from IRS, as well as the one paid in card or voucher é de 9,6€. With this measure the government foresees a cost of 1,320 million euros, benefiting 760 thousand civil servants.
In the proposal previously presented, the Government had indicated that there would be an additional differential in the minimum wage to compensate for inflation, but had not advanced figures.
